“THE NIGHT WILL FIND US” (Dickens)
Slip your dress off,
put your jeans on,
Find that sexy white top I like,
those strappy sandals, and....
The night will find us,
ridin’ under that blanket of stars above
Grab the keys now,
let your hair down,
We’ll go drivin’,
until we’ve made the rounds, and....
Lets find our secret spot, pull over let the top down.
Let the music play, while we’re slow dancin’
Hold me close until we, feel the passion rise,
As the moon begins to shine, we’ll be makin’ love.
I love being with you,
ridin’ under this blanket of stars,
I love being with you,
dancin’ under those beautiful stars above.

The last piece written for the project kicks the album off. A light spirited song that invites you along for the ride. This piece took a long time to produce and record. We fought hard to get the right, light free & easy feel to open the album.
“GHOST AT A GLANCE” (Dickens)
You walk into the room,
like a ghost at a glance.
As we move eye to eye,
I’ll take a chance.
I want to hold you in my arms,
I want to hold you all night long.
I want to love you all night long,
again and again, again and again.
Candle-lit dinner,
chilled champagne for two.
It’s a quiet summer evening,
I’m enchanted by you.
Your kiss is soft and warm.
As we make love until the morning.
Don’t let the daylight steal you away.
I want you to stay.
I see you in my mirror,
as you pass into view.
wrap your arms around me.
I’m leaving with you.

A visual song. The picture is framed with love and hope of renewed love.
“OH BABY” (Dickens)
Oh baby,
close your eyes.
Pull me close,
don’t be shy.
Oh baby,
let passion be your guide.
Delight in our love,
feel the warmth inside.
..and when you’re feelin’,
the pleasure that satisfies.
I’ll still be here,
when you open your eyes.
Oh baby,
lets stay home tonight,
peel back the sheet,
love by candlelight.
Oh baby,
don’t be shy!

I love to play and sing this song. The guitar parts were some of the most fun to create and personally inspiring. “Let passion be your guide!”
“PRIVILEGED NATION” (Dickens)
Will you ever find out for yourself?
There’s really nobody else,
to take the blame or share the shame,
of the sins, of the privileged nation?
Some try to tell of what lies ahead,
before the rivers swollen red.
Our science gets silenced instead,
by the accountants, of the privileged nation!
Sometimes at night I go walking in the dark alone.
Adrift in the stars of this island we call home.
These restless emotions slake the passion for life that I’ve known,
while empty pockets in my soul keep growin’. (on and on and on)
How long can endless greed fuel our growth?
All we want is more of the most.
With all this churning our freedom gets lost,
are we slaves to the privilege nation?
Have we become the slaves, to the privileged nation?

Inspired by Paul Hawken. ”We consume in 10 years what it takes the earth 12 years to produce”. This was originally written for the Gail Fox Project.
“SEXY BALLERINA” (Dickens)
See the pretty girl, dancin’ on the stage.
She’s a model of the night; she’s the rage,
a sexy ballerina, everyone’s dream.
If you watch her dance, you’ll see her swing.
That hourglass body,
can hypnotize.
Those sleeking moves,
control my eyes.
I watch her as the lights fade from the room.
Once again her dance is over too soon.
Out of the shadows, now she’s at my side,
a hungry soul with engaging eyes.
She says don’t forget love’s just a word,
with a smile she takes my hand into hers.
As our private dance comes to an end.
She softly whispers “would you like me again?”
I watch her dance, tonight she’s my dream,
my sexy ballerina in a g-string.

Beauties that dance in and with the dancing lights. This expands the lyrical realm of the album to embrace experiences that may be in our past. This is for all the hard working, well-paid professionals that does not rely on visual aid only to control your eyes.
“A GLANCE, A WHISPER, A KISS” (Dickens / Akers)
I don’t know what to say,
words only get in the way,
they can’t explain what I really feel.
I’ve said so many things,
but only in my dreams,
what would a true encounter reveal?
All I want is..................
A glance, a whisper, a kiss,
a chance, that I can’t miss,
all I really want is you by my side.
And you could be.................
a friend, a lover for life,
you could even be my wife,
all I want is you by my side.
Every time you look at me,
I lose my grip on reality,
Could I ever really call out your name? No!
So I’ll wait ‘til I’m at home,
All alone by the phone,
But if you answer, what will I say?
I loved you in my dreams,
Imagined every scene,
Those dreams inspires my heart,
Now I know what to say.

The only collaborative tune on the project. This was recorded almost entirely in Nashville after visiting the studio where many of my favorite artists recorded.
“TURN THE LIGHTS DOWN” (Dickens)
Turn the lights down,
the music on.
I want to be alone.
Send in the night,
I won’t fight,
I, I’ll soon be gone.
I wish that I’d,
never gazed past your eyes,
or heard their lonely cries.
What’s lost can’t be found,
if we both turn around,
and hide those painful lies.
Turn the lights down,
the music on,
I want to be alone.
Send in the night,
this time I won’t fight,
I’ll soon be gone.
I’ll be gone.

The oldest piece on the project, inspired by revisiting the realization that some relations are better dissolved early.
“IF THIS WERE A MOVIE ” (Dickens)
If this were a movie,
I’d cast you as mine.
And the long lasting loneliness,
would fade with time.
I’ve felt your heart,
swept away before.
Can you feel me now?
Are you there?
If this were a movie,
what love scenes we would play,
just touching your lips dear,
would sweep my heart away, away,
sweep my heart away,
away..........
Can you feel me now?
Are you there?
Are you there?
Are you there?

This song forced its birth into my conscience state. Pansperma? I have a special love for the melody. This song takes me places that transcend beyond the present into the past to rest in places which exists deep in my soul. This song is not for everyone, just like the movies of life.
“HEART OF #66’ ” (Dickens)
She turned her head and caught his stare,
it was a fallen moment he didn’t care.
The spirit of fear was lost in his eyes,
she’s the animal, in disguise.
I watched and listened as she moved for the kill,
he didn’t know the ride was part of the thrill.
They left together, left no trace,
lookin’ for some darker place.
Now and then love’s born in careless ways,
when we proceed without caution, in a daze,
those heart-shaped smiles that welcome us on,
they’re only looks of lust that’s shown.
Froze when I passed a rusty blue pick-up,
I’d seen that license plate I knew that truck.
One word “haunted” was all the plate said,
and then baby, I knew someone was dead.
Stopped as soon as I’d drove by,
opened the door and let my nerves fly.
My surprise and shock weren’t afterglow,
all I saw was something I didn’t know.
She turned her head and caught his stare,
she’s the animal, in disguise.

Don’t ever go there, just to get there. “Haunted” license plate on a rusty blue pick-up deliver mysteries. Join in and realize that “now and then love’s born in careless ways”. We had lots of fun putting this together in Nashville.
“CAN’T IMAGINE ME WITH ANYONE BUT YOU” (Dickens)
I know you want to walk away.
The look in your eye reveals, what you want to say.
but before you say you want to go,
there’s something that you should know.
Can’t imagine me with anyone but you,
won't find no one to fill those pretty little shoes.
The world’s been a better place, since I first saw your face,
Can’t imagine me with anyone but you.
What were the words, what was the song?
How did we lose our way, what went wrong?
Is there any better place we should go,
now that we both know?
Can’t imagine me with anyone but you,
Can’t imagine you with anyone else but me.
My heart began to race,
when I first saw your face
Can’t imagine me with anyone but you.
I’ll never love anyone else the way I love you.

Written not long after a car accident that resulted in the purchase of a guitar. This is a plea to consider a bond of love before dissolving the opportunity to share its fruits for a lifetime. The pretty little shoes was the original focal inspiration for this song.
‘THE DAY HOPE WALKED AWAY’ (Dickens)
As her eyes trace the page lookin’ for a promise of love,
she feels her faith begin to stray.
The worried shoes that sat in the corner of her room, left the day hope walked away.
Been so long, since anyone shared her heart,
she’d forgot love sometimes ends this way,
The dusty dreams of her youth that lay hidden in her room,
left the day hope walked away.
She’d seen angel wings form in the clouds above,
watched them pass in the nighttime sky.
She heard the voices of a thousand violins,
sing in harmony as they cry.
If you can find the loss in the story of her song,
hold her memory close don’t let it fade.
The broken spirit that lived in her room,
left the day hope walked away...

“The worried shoes that sat in the corner of her room, left the day hope walked away”. I consider this the only sad song on this album. I love the final production and the keyboards; it is the only piano based tune on the project.
“FATHER TIME & MOTHER NATURE” (Dickens)
Father Time and Mother Nature,
Never whispered a clue.
About the steady fading rush of life,
and the destined rendezvous.
As I stare at the face of time,
I see his eyes turn away.
Hold the mirror steady now, he says,
“embrace your presence today.”
Far from the passing sands of time,
a distant voice cries out alone.
Deep inside the spirit of the child,
the future’s still unknown.
Mother if you feel the pulse of life,
remove the Dreamcatcher from my room.
From his collection of our memories,
hopes and dreams pass too soon.
Father Time and Mother Nature,
only gave a mysterious clue.
Whispered secretly to the wind,
life goes by too soon.

Inspired by Rick & Scott, two of my dearest friends that moved beyond the control of Father Time. Dedicated to my good friend Richard Woodruff, one of my dearest friends, that continually reminds me that our walk never stops. More recording and engineering time spent on this song than any two others combined. Listen for the unintended sounds at the “pulse of life”, eerie. I love it! The Demon / Angel choir really brought the chorus to the chill factor level.
